Welcome to the Sheriff’s Police Hearings Division.

The Sheriff’s Police Hearings Division hears cases initiated by the Sheriff’s Police Department.

The Sheriff’s Police Department is responsible for patrolling the 72 square miles of unincorporated neighborhoods, business and industrial areas where more than 109,000 citizens of Cook County reside.

The Sheriff’s Police Department began sending code violations to the Department of Administrative Hearings for adjudication in March 2010. Common violation types include:

Sheriff Police vehicle standing, parking and compliance violations may be contested by mail or in-person. To contest by mail or request an in-person hearing please follow the instructions on your citation. If you contest by mail or request an in-person hearing you will receive documentation in the mail regarding the status of your case. If made a request for an in-person hearing but are unable to attend your hearing date, please contact the Department of Administrative Hearings at (312)603-2120 or click here for information on our Administrative Procedures . If you have missed your Hearing date, you may still have an opportunity to reschedule your Hearing by filing a Motion to Set-Aside the Default Judgment.
